OK, let's see if we can clear up things....

.....early B-52's used a different stylus adjusting gauge:





....with the B-55 the arm lift segment also changed - on later B-52's as well - and therefore the stylus adjustment gauge:

By the way: interesting to see that the design of the headshell is different - at the end the geometry is the same - but not on the stylus adjustment gauge !

That really clears things up.  ... and I feel a bit stupid not being able to figure it out by myself .
Gonna try this asap on the Stanton 680 I mounted on the b52 last night after the Goldring G800 died on me.
