Hello Ilkka,

thank you very much for the generous offer, a very nice plinth, but the R80 is too big, he's the antecedant of the 927... If suitable, this would have been a very nice housing for the R80, my wife would have been also pleased...

Hello Niels, to realize how big this thing is, is like the start of an addiction... Mine began years before, when I still realized (after years of failing search), that the R80 / 927 were way too expensive for me, I gave up and just in this moment a very reasonnably priced example appeared, but ca. 1000 km from my place... So it started all with a longer travel... And thank you again for the great opprtunity to have experiences with a great vintage cartridge who would also fit well not only on Lencos but also on the EMT R80...

Thank you very much, it was a long way, maybe 15 months, but it was worth the efforts, I'm very happy with the player...

Absolutely excellent! Congratulations on a fantastic restoration and a fine end result! You dont have to play on it. You can just sit and look at it with a glass filled with something of  your choice.  icon_salut

In the meantime I found a 1969 EMT 927 from the first owner in pristine condition with manuals and even the warranty card that sits now in the wooden frame pictured earlier in this thread…

And there appeared also a second EMT R80 nearby and one of these very rare EMT double consoles far away from my place that a friend brought to my home…

The second R80 was in a good original condition with an Ortofon RF-297 tonearm and came with an EMT 133 phono pre…

After the restoration of the console and the second R80 I could realize my “EMT double deck” with one player for stereo and one player for mono, both sounding excellent…

Still missing an original EMT 139st for the 927, but who knows what time will bring…

Best regards

Hi Niels,

indeed, I was very lucky… But it took also a long time to finish this project, final step was dismantling and repairing the mains transformer of the EMT 133…

Now everything works fine, as you supposed one for mono with an Ortofon Bakelite Mono Tondose built for EMT into the EMT 133 Phonopre and one for stereo with the EMT TSD 15 SFL Tondose into the phono input of an EAR 912…

Best regards
