Robert, your table is simply Magnificent! BTW why are you using only 1 weight with your SPU?

Interesting ideas smiley I myself have double decker slate plinths cut for a Lenco and 301. I should focus on completing those projects once the current one is through.

Hi Donald,

I didn’t need it! The SPU i have on there now is a GE Mk2 that isn’t quite as heavy as my older SPUs. The Bokrand sounds great also with a very heavy Zu Denon DL 103r, so i keep the second weight handy for when i get that urge…

Also looks like Billy and I use the same sandwhich! I’m also using the Soundeck record weight, which I love on this table.

I have the sounddeck platter, weight and footer pads on my PTP, a worthwhile upgrade for sure, the second weight will add the mass needed to bring the resonance down to 8 hz close to the Schuman resonance, try it and see if you like the sound.

I'm using the footers under my phono stage and  between my speakers and stands and under the granite chopping board my amp sits on.

I have them under my bass speakers and a turntable motor pod and some amps also, I find a noticeable improvement with all of the sound deck products that I have tried.

These are exactly the sort of recommendations from knowledgable and experienced users that I find invaluable. They are clearly not paid for Marketing 'Opinions' nor advertorials. There is a great benefit to all interested parties when a thread reveals this level of user satisfaction and endorsement. A Testament to the efficacy of the product in a very competitive and challenging market. I will be looking into these products at some point in the future when priorities and funds allow.

Hi Donald,

As i wrote, the SPU GE Mk2 is actually quite light…are you recommending adding some mass to the headshell? Otherwise i can’t balance the arm with both weights on. No problem with the Zu: it’s a beast. I think it weighs as much as a volswagen Beetle or maybe my mother’s fruit cake.

I love a dense fruit cake! Your deck is lovely btw.

These work John. I was amazed with the improvements particularly with my speakers. My floor is suspended and even with heavy stands they were "boomy" but the square footers totally cured it. Really.

That is strange because the ge mk 11 weighs 28 gms with cu @ 8 and recommended T/F is 4 gms, I have the same set up and it works perfectly with two weights and no extra head shell weight.

Strange indeed. I can’t balance the tonearm with both weights before setting the VTF. I need more weight in the headshell.

Hi Billy,

My experieces match yours. I use the puck with sien’s copper matt, wth the soundeck soft mat between the copper and the lenco platter. I also have the cld mat, and it is superb. I can’t tell the difference between it and the copper, so at the moment i’m going with an aesthetic choice.

But to me, the isolation plates are the most astonishing element in their line. I have them under my table. I will shortly put them under everything. They are incredible.

What size Soundeck soft mat is needed for this setup?
I have the Sien copper mat and one Lenco plattter - very good so far, but going to buy the Soundeck damping puck, steel version.

Have Siens bearing system which is also very gppd.

Please advice

285, 292 or 295 mm ?

I don't use the soft mat at all.

Platter - Soundeck cld mat - SCum - Soundeck puck.

Sometimes I add a record too  laugh laugh
