I have a GL75 (220V/50Hz) that I'm about to reconnect to mains power.

According to the archives here (https://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=68.0), the current wiring set up in the GL75 I have does not match what should be the configuration for this motor.

In the image below the far bottom left wire actually runs to the Switch/Capacitor. The archive link above deems this to be the neutral line. It appears this GL75 is wired to have the two far bottom right clipped wires as the power and neutral lines.

Before I start to swap things around, is there any reason it would have been set up like this?

None that I can think of. I would definitely wire it as per the standard configuration, if you are in any doubt then take a clue from the label beneath the left hand wire which says 0V~ i.e. Neutral wink

Steve, things aren't always as they seem, that might be 220V on left (110V is on the right).

https://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=68.0
actually shows both configurations (for switch & live/neutral connections), so it might not make a difference.

WARNING: I know very little about electronics so keep that in mind. I do know it can hurt  shocked

It does actually say 220V, not 0V. So it would appear that it was wired as per the motor markings. With the far bottom right being neutral, and the one next to it being power. I think I will leave it as such.

There is no problem with the wiring. While replacing the clipped wires, ensure the extreme right wire is connected to the phase from the supply. The other one that is inside should be the neutral. This cuts the supply before it reaches the motor, so there is no live current in the motor when the tt is switched off.

OK. Thanks for confirming Anwesh. I was going to do the opposite, so thanks for correcting me.

And you were 100% correct!
