Thank you all for some useful suggestions.

I have discovered 3 things.

1. The centre of the cart was not centre of the tonearm shell mounting bracket, slightly off centre towards centre of the platter. Hope you understand.
2. Mass, since the wood body was on the heavy and bulky side I shaved some material off.
3. Noticed that the cart glued with the wrong angle in the wood body. Front a bit lower towards the platter then it should. Raised the tonearm as a temporary solution until I can redo the wood body.

All in all the sound is going in the right direction. Since I'm short on time I did all 3 at the same time

Shaved some material of, more oval and curved body now, roughly half the weight.

Wrong angle, notice by the increasing gap in front over the stylus.

Dry and static air season coming up.   cry

Made an experiment to reduce the static build up. Let's see if things improve.

Idea from https://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/stat_trap_e.html

2 layers of alu with copper foil and the strings from a copy machine. Used a leather string to close the gap.

Grounded and it can happen that some strings actually touches the record at times.

Got hold of a chromed copper water pipe to cover the bolt. Will need to matt the chrome down if this works. To much bling!  laugh

Cool idea.
Is your static electricity catcher connected to ground? Have you already done any operational tests? I'm thinking about something similar. I already have the parts. I still need to assemble it and test it. I will report the results here on the forum.

Yes, connected to ground.
Not completely conclusive if or how it works yet.   tongue It does not remove static but maybe it reduce the buildup of static a bit. Static records that I put on appears just as static when I remove them.
Non static record appears to stay like that.  Roll Eyes

I never got used to the "Silver" hammerite on the frying pan. It didn't turn out as I thought.

So, it's time to move over to the dark side of the...color range.

I change the speed selector knob to similar style as the on/off switch.

Made a matching rechargeable LED to help me see what I'm doing.
