Hello I decide to built a new plinth for my PTP4 Nothing which has not been already mentioned in this forum. 6 layers of 20mm MDF and Plywood ,Nantais idler spring upgrades, heavy brass feet ,but...during the construction I decide to do an experiment I cut 3x20mm holes on first layer where I put in 3 antivibration rubber feet and place the motor on these. In this way I was thinking that I will ''cut'' some extra unwanted vibrations from the motor. To be honest I really don't know if someone else have tried this but it was a very good improvement and the Lenco is now dead silent. I'm open to any thoughts if it is false upgrade and the role of the feet is not right. I will add some pictures before and after. I wish you the best Gerasimos https://postimg.cc/sM2pp73Nhttps://postimg.cc/CdDJ1GKChttps://postimg.cc/KR2fg1K6https://postimg.cc/qzxLcpyzhttps://postimg.cc/18RKJbrMhttps://postimg.cc/7Cfny7c2

Good Afternoon, markiprov: Very nice and professional looking. Must sound amazing! Is the first layer, that is the top PTP mounting layer done with CNC machine. If so, would you have a template (DWG) drawing of it? I have a an older PTP4 that I would like to mount on a piece of Panzerholtz. Thanks. Sincerely, Kingsley.

Gorgeous! It seems that the rubber bushing will decouple the motor a little more, however, if they are too pliable that could cause speed differences, just my opinion.

Hello yes it is the best I ever measured Usually my measures was at this range (0.07 0.08) The critical point was the idler. I tried three differed ones. From Audio Silente , a brand new idler but with 3mm and one I have for years and the rubber was serviced by Svalander a long time ago. Svalander gave me this measure. Lucky?I don't know. This usually is GL88 W&F My best regards Gerasimos

Presto13" 0,11, Gates 14" 0,08, Rek-O-Kut 12" 0,09, Garrard 401 0,06, Technics SP10 MKII 0,02... The SP10 still doesn't sound any better...it's just easier to transport... Best regards Arndt

Amdt: thanks for the reference info for me( and I assume makiprov) the impressive thing is a turntable I built( even with assistance) can have a performance like that. I think it goes to show what can be squeezed out of a PTP build.

Wow and flutter is just one aspect of a drive. Above a certain level, it is no longer decisive for the sound. Just as the background noise only disturbs when the music is boring or the background noise is too loud. But that's just my opinion. Best regards Arndt

Absolutely agree, but (like any one of a number of factors) get it wrong and it won't matter if everything else is perfect
