This item kind of flies in the face of the use of MASS to kill vibrations.

https://stackaudio.co.uk/serene-stabiliser/?v=7885444af42e

I found it to be very effective at enhancing my vinyl playback. Granted at the moment I have “defected” and am using 2 sprung sub chassis turntables, Linn and Systemdek, but I had first heard it prove its worth on my brother in laws Garrard 401 so I thought it might be worth bringing to the attention of this forum. After all we all want to hear our records sounding their best.

Apologies if it has been mentioned before, though you should investigate the website as they have many other interesting items.

I wonder how it compares to lightweight clamps, e.g. Clearaudio Clever Clamp or Hexmat Molekula

I couldn't say, but it brings more to the "table" than my Origin Live Gravity One.

I DIYed one myself out of a postal tube, sliced a 30mm section & filled with fine sand:

Not exactly sure what it does, but I miss it when its not there.... icon_scratch

I thought something like that might be possible.

I’m sure it works but if it worked as well as the Serene you would really miss it!

While the comcept of a heavy stabilizer is sound I can´t help worrying about how it affects the platter bearing.I guess that on a L75 or other turntables with heavy platters 200 or so extra grams doesn´t really register but I may be wrong and there are lots of lighter platters around. Does anyone know?

Impressive reviews! Worth looking at this, high praise for the mat and stabiliser combo.

A summary around 15mins.

Nice to see people thinking outside the box.....but they weren't the first to measure their mat!
