I've got a stripped out screw hole on my head-shell. I am wondering would it be possible to open the holes up slightly with a 2.5mm drill bit and then slip a flat (low profile) nut underneath the fixing bracket to screw a 2.5mm screw into? Looks as though the channel underneath would accept a 2.5mm nut width wise. Only issue I can foresee with this is that the holes are drilled slightly into the centre so there may be less room on one side of the channel than the other. Might try using epoxy to keep the nets in place. I've ordered some flat, square m2.5 nuts and m2.5 x 25mm screws to try it.

I suppose you could. Wouldn't it just be easier to get a head shell "sled" from someone as a replacement?

Does anyone know a current UK supplier of 3-48 UNC 2a screws, 1/2" in length, in either brass or aluminium.
I've only been able to find stainless steel ones so far.

Cheers
